The Alliance des Burundais du Canada and the Irwin Cotler Centre & the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights were honoured to welcome nearly 490 participants to the conference on the human rights situation in Burundi, featuring Mr. Pierre-Claver Mbonimpa, our Burundian Mandela, Me Bernard Maingain, lawyer and member of the collective of lawyers for victims and victims’ families, and journalist Antoine Kaburahe, founder of the Iwacu Voix du Burundi press group.
It was a resounding success, with presentations by our guests, questions and reactions from the audience, informal discussions….but above all the presence and contributions of many of our members. Thank you and BRAVO. We’re on the right track, with leading personalities like our illustrious guests.
