Dear members of the Alliance des Burundais du Canada,
In this end-of-year period, I would like, on my behalf and on behalf of the Executive Committee, to wish you happy holidays and present you with my best wishes for happiness and prosperity in 2018.
Many of you have responded to our appeals:
- An elective general meeting of the Ottawa Gatineau section on March 4, 2017.
- A demonstration on Parliament Hill on April 26 to mark one of the darkest anniversaries in Burundi’s history.
- A major conference-debate on October 7 with such illustrious figures as P.C. Mbonimpa, Antoine Kaburahe and Maitre Bernard Maingain.
- Numerous meetings by sector during which you were able to express yourselves more openly on a number of issues, including the challenges faced by new immigrants.
- And last but not least, the snow and wintry weather did not deter you on December 12, when you came to commemorate the victims of the barbarity imposed on the people of Burundi.
For all this we say thank you, thank you and thank you again.
