The humanitarian arm of the Alliance des Burundais du Canada (ABC) is asking for your generosity to carry out a sustainable income-generating project for our Burundian compatriots in the Nakival refugee camp in Uganda.
For several months now, we have been working closely with the Albino refugees and their families (around fifty people) to build a pigsty that will generate a stable and sustainable source of income for their respective families and thus meet their daily needs.
Our project is detailed as follows:
Construction of a barn for 6 pigs and their young – 1,863,000 Ugandan shillings
Purchase of 6 pigs: 3,000,000 Ugandan shillings
Feed for the first 6 months: 13,000,000 Ugandan shillings
Contingencies: 1,000,000 Ugandan shillings
Total cost: 18.000.000 shs ug or 6000$ CAD
On April 5, 2021 the humanitarian arm of ABC officially launched this project and a first instalment of around $700 has just been sent to Uganda.
We are counting, once again, on your usual generosity to complete this project so dear to our Albino families and our community.
